Alvaro Ruiz serves as the Global Core Banking lead and as Managing Director for the Banking Technology Strategy & Advisory cross-Europe market practice at Accenture. In these roles, Alvaro helps organizations leverage technology and innovation to shape their technology visions, execute digital transformation journeys, modernize legacy and core banking systems, and reinvent their businesses to create exceptional, sustainable value from technology investments.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Alvaro has a diverse background on both the consulting and client sides. He has extensive expertise in core banking systems, cloud architectures, legacy coexistence, efficiency programs, and quality production management.

Alvaro started his career at Accenture, where he spent 12 years before rejoining the company in November 2022. Prior to returning to Accenture, he worked at BBVA as the Global Head of Infrastructure and IT Operations. Alvaro has also served as the Global CIO at Santander Bank.
