I’m excited to announce that we are now open for submissions to the Efma Accenture Innovation Awards for 2015. Presented at the Efma Convention in Amsterdam on October 28, 2015, these awards are a wonderful opportunity for banks to showcase their bright ideas and brilliant innovations in front of the most influential names in banking.
The Efma-Accenture Distribution and Marketing program is a joint initiative from Efma and Accenture that aims to identify and reward the most innovative projects in the retail financial services global arena. Efma is a global not-for-profit organization, which brings together more than 3,300 retail financial services companies, including almost of a third of all largest retail banks, from over 130 countries.
This year the awards are divided into eight categories:
- Customer Experience
- Digital Distribution
- Physical Distribution
- Sustainable Business
- Best New Product or Service
- Best Innovation in Payments
- Digital Marketing
- Big Data and Analytics
There will be additional awards for:
- Most Disruptive Innovation
- Global Innovator
Submissions are voted on by fellow Efma members and the Innovation Awards Committee, composed of Efma Board members and banking executives from all over the world. Six finalists are recognized and three winners are selected in each category based on:
- Originality: the uniqueness of the idea in the marketplace and its potential as a game changer.
- Impact: the innovation’s capacity to generate a superior, long-term competitive edge and a significant return on investment.
- Universality: the innovation’s adaptability across different markets and countries.
Since 2010, the Efma Accenture Innovation Awards have recognized 1000 innovations from 363 banks in 79 countries. Last year Barclays won in the Sales Effectiveness category for their Digital Eagles program, which helps less technically savvy customers understand how to use the internet and mobile banking apps. Maybe this year you’ll be one of the winners!
